The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “Any group of people that assemble in one of the Houses of Allah to recite the Book of Allah, learning and teaching it, tranquillity will descend upon them, mercy will engulf them, angels will surround them and Allah will make mention of them to those (the angels) in His proximity.” [Muslim]

AFECC’s Education department currently teaches a range of studies from Quran, Islamic studies, Arabic language and courses for our revert brothers and sisters. Our classes mostly take place based on an evening and weekend schedule.

Over the past 32+ years AFECC has worked tirelessly to reach the position we are in now. We have our own curriculum and syllabi tailored by qualified scholars to give our students the best possible grounding to set them on their way to seeking Islamic knowledge. The Education department is overseen by Shaykh Sohaib Hussain, a graduate of Madinah University.

We currently hold around 125 classes throughout the week, with over 500 students enrolled across all disciplines. We are continuously expanding and growing year upon year. Many of our alumni have become teachers and others have went on to pursue further Islamic knowledge.

Welfare and Community

AFECC considers itself as a key member of the Glasgow community and therefore takes it upon itself to find solutions in order to act as a supporting body, providing service and charitable aid to the community where necessary.

We realise the extent of the societal problems that exist within the geographic locality of the masjid such as poverty, unemployment and the increase of basic living costs.

Da’wah and Outreach

Our da’wah and Outreach department is committed to delivering relevant and authentic knowledge, not only to our local community but also to the broader global audience through the convenience of the internet.

AFECC deliver a variety of courses, lectures and workshops throughout the year focussing on serving and educating the community on Islam. Our team strive to cater for all, regardless of age, background, disability or level of understanding.

Our Imams often travel to locations around the UK to deliver khutbahs and lectures. Their time can also be booked to hold advisory meetings on a 1-1 or group basis related to personal or community matters.
